
Nobody really prepares you for how strange and wonderful it is to be inside a city and inside the wild at the exact same time. That’s Nairobi National Park for you lions on one side of the road, the Nairobi skyline rising up behind them on the other, like the city forgot to draw a line between itself and the savannah. I went in expecting a quiet morning drive. I left having had one of the better days of the whole trip.
